Impressive Flamenco Red color. Rear
quarters and front fenders have been re-painted before current
ownership. No rust anywhere! Starts instantly and was used as a daily driver
for about 20,000 miles over a 3-year period. Overdue maintenance and numerous repairs
were performed to bring this car to be a reliable (and once again) attractive
Jaguar XJS. This car has been driven all over the state of Florida when used as
my primary vehicle and I would not hesitate to drive it again on any long trip.
Interior upholstery and carpets are all very nice, all seat
functions work, lighting, instruments, cabin functions are all good. Lovely to
drive, excellent fuel economy and the in-line 4.0 liter six-cylinder engine is easy
to maintain. The 1993 model year has a simple and reliable ignition system and
reliable fuel injection system. The automatic 4-speed overdrive gearbox (with sport mode)
is significantly better than the 3-speed non-overdrive unit used in the V-12
cars. The 4.0 engine cars are approximately 400 pounds lighter than the V-12
cars and have generally all-around better performance.
Car is fitted with rare Jaguar “dealer option” body
moldings. Also has a 3.5mm stereo adapter jack fitted to play MP3 music through
the original Jaguar stereo.

This 28 year old car looks and drives great but still
has a few minor imperfections: Power radio antenna doesn’t not function. Rear
window tint is peeling near center area. Hairline cracks in shellac on burled
wood dash pieces (replacement kits available on-line). Cruise control not
working. Clearcoat on right rear quarter is starting to fail but the Flamenco Red paint is
“good” (a body shop can repair this without too much difficulty). A few rock
chips on bonnet and two small “door dings” on passenger side door (see photos). The 15” Chrome
wheels are from another Jaguar and are in "poor" condition. The Pirelli P-600
tires look like new but were fitted to these wheels in 2006 so should be replaced
before any serious driving.
Photos of car were taken in the past few days and represent the car as-is.
This beautiful 1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible 2+2 has had dedicated care over its garaged California lifetime. The reliable 6 cylinder 4 liter engine at 237 HP is strong and smooth, as is the solid shifting 4 speed automatic transmission. In addition to lifetime regular maintenance, mechanical work performed within just the last 5,000 miles includes: new premium battery, top lift cylinder, transmission service, brake pads and rotors front and rear, calipers rear, KYB front shocks, oil cooler hoses, valve cover gasket, kickdown switch, oil pressure sender, fuel tank sender, power steering hoses, power steering pump, differential seals, power rack bushings, road force wheel balance and alignment, Pirelli Cinturato tires, trunk lift shocks, console latch, sun visor clips, a current full service, and a smog certificate for the new owner. There is nothing I know left to be done except enjoy driving this vehicle.
The engine compartment and undercarriage have been cleaned and inspected and are very clean and rust free. The optional chrome wheels are nice and bright, no scuffs, and are wrapped in Pirelli Cinturatos. The spare tire is new and the matching chrome wheel is as new. The photo of the trunk does not show the tire cover, and battery cover which are also in great matching condition. There is also a factory set of tools with jack, lug wrench in the factory pouch.
The interior is excellent, with front seats redone in premium matching vinyl with pads to factory standards. The original top is in very good condition, the wood is all smooth and nice, the serviced a/c blows cold, and everything works including the 6 CD player in the trunk, power top, heated seats, power windows, mirrors, locks, security system, cruise control, headlight washers, heated back window, tilt wheel and more. The factory matching convertible boot cover is in great condition with no mars.
This Jaguar was repainted with PPG 2 stage paint in a gorgeous Jaguar Metallic British Racing Green color in 2014, over the original non-metallic BRG. The paint has some minor flaws, including some waviness around the passenger mirror indicating minor body repair, but the car still presents beautifully. Both the Carfax and VINData Report show no damage history. The chrome and bright-work is original and still very nice. There is Zero body rust. The car is very tight with no rattles or squeaks. There is a new NOS hood badge and new aftermarket trunk emblems. It comes with a clean Carfax, current clean VINData Report, California title and smog certificate, and registration is good through June of 2022. Factory User Manuals and a premium car cover are also included.
I carefully chose this car as a pleasure driver and was completing the refurbishment, but recent health issues now force sale. Included are books and maintenance and repair history back to 2004, including the original window sticker. This XJS is a wonderful driving car, never abused, with pride of ownership and priced to sell. You could pay more for a lower mileage car, but this is an honest vehicle and has been gone through from bumper to bumper and has many more miles of pleasurable and trouble free driving ahead. Please have a serious interest, because when you see this car and drive it, you will want to buy it. You will benefit from the coming appreciation of these cars, and you will not be disappointed.
