However, this car has had a total new engine put in it less than 1,000 miles ago. What makes this car unique is the fact that is has the option to remove only the Targa top or the full convertible top. It not only has the soft convertible top but also a Hardtop with a glass window that comes with the car. This is the last year of this model and limited production. Powering this sports car is a 5.3L V12 engine and mated to the stock automatic transmission. It comes with a clean history report and title. From July 1981, the XJ-S was renamed the XJ-S HE and received the new High-Efficiency V12 engine for much better fuel economy. With the Fire Ball combustion chamber designed by Swiss Engineer Michael May, power output was increased as a by-product to 295 hp or 263 hp in North America. Options on this beautiful Jaguar includes AM/FM radio with Cassette, power windows, power brakes, power steering, cruise control, leather sport bucket seats, alloy wheels with radial tires, and so much more! The Silver colored paint flows nicely with the blue leather interior and blue cloth hardtop. The chrome and woodgrain accents thought the style of this car are truly elegant. The current owner has enjoyed this car for the past 15 plus years and is finally ready to allow someone else to make memories in it. Also 60,000 mile service was done with brakes and rotors replaced. AVAILABILITY
: We advertise our inventory across multiple websites. It is best practice to inquire about the advertised vehicle prior to purchasing in order confirm that it was not already sold. Vehicles may be sold prior to its eBay advertising ending, and we reserve the right to end advertising/listing early or to cancel any and all bids/offers solely at our discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation. In the event that a bidder has the winning bid or finalizes the buy it now price, but did not check availability and the vehicle was sold before a deposit and contracts were executed, then we are not liable nor responsible.
AS-IS WHERE-IS
: All vehicles are sold on an AS-IS WHERE-IS basis. Having a third party inspection and addressing any concerns is recommended prior to purchase. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to verify all advertisements which shall include but not limited to options, accessories, and vehicle condition before time of sale. If the purchaser chooses to waive an inspection, the AS-IS WHERE-IS is still enforced. Any concerns will not be addressed post sale as the sale is final without cures or remedies.
PAYMENT
: We require a non-refundable $1,000 deposit within 24 hours of offer being placed. A deposit is a commitment to purchase and is applied towards the purchase price. The commitment to purchase is not contingent upon inspection, financing, or any other terms or conditions.
We require full payment within 7 days of offer acceptance, unless other arrangements are agreed to in writing.
If the deposit and/or full payment are not provided within said time frame, all vehicles will be relisted and transaction will be considered null and void.
We accept wire transfer (preferred), cashier's check, personal check (vehicle shipment will be delayed until check clears), ACH, credit cards (for the agreed deposit amount only and will incur a 3% fee), and in person cash payments. We also offer vehicle financing, please inquire for details prior to making bids/offers. PayPal and American Express is not accepted.
VEHICLE RELEASE
: Signed purchase packet which shall include but not limited to the purchase contract, cleared payment in full, and a copy of your driver's license will be needed before the vehicle is released.
Fees and Taxes
All finalized transactions will have additional charges if applicable which could include the following: sales tax, title fees, license & registration fees, and other additional government or licensing agency charges to register the vehicle. The purchaser is responsible for these charges.
The advertised price and winning auction bids shall include a document fee of $397.63.

Originally developed by William Heynes Jaguar Chief Engineer and Vice Chairman using the platform and chassis of the then current Heynes designed XJ saloon, the XJ-S was noted for its prominent rear flying buttresses. The early styling initiated by Heynes and partially by Jaguar's aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer -- one of the first designers to apply advanced aero principles to cars.
A factory XJ-S convertible was launched in 1989, as Ford took control. The convertible top was built by Karmann; it was lined and weather-proof, and the V-12 convertible's price rose to $56,000
