974 Jeep CJ-5. This classic piece of American off-road engineering has been completely rebuilt from the ground up by SS Custom Hot Rods. This includes a full tear down and rebuild of the engine, fully restored body, new interior and all the details in between.
It’s powered by a 304 V8 engine routed through a three speed manual transmission. Side exhaust pipes coupled with the 304 V8 makes for tons of power and really great sound.
The body on this classic Jeep CJ5 was taken down to the bare metal and rebuilt to be as good as when it left the factory. We sprayed a thick undercoating to protect the underside and a beautiful dark metallic blue finish on the upper body and roll cage.
The interior is completely refreshed including, seats, carpet, stereo, controls and everything in between. Kilmat interior insulation and a new top from Bestop round this build out making it comfortable enough for daily use.

If you are restoring an early CJ5, this will save you a LOT of time and expense on body work. We bought this solid Southern CJ 5 tub, planning to restore the yellow one we just sold here a couple weeks ago with the Dauntless V8 and Overdrive.
"solid" with very minor rust damage as indicated in the pictures, it has LOTS of white seam sealerthat will need to be removed
But there is NO undercoating, which is very time consuming to remove.
