We are offering one of the most original and unmolested 32k mile 1974 E-Types on the market today. Finished in its original Pale Primrose over Biscuit leather that is in remarkable condition, being all originalfrom the dashboard, door panels, carpeting, leather seats and so much more. The original cosmolene from the factory is still in its proper places and untouched, which is a confirmation of its rust free condition and originality, from the original floor pans to the spare tire compartment in the trunk, as well as all areas of importance on such a motorcar.
The 1974 model year marked the end of an era for Jaguar, as it was the final production year for the E-Type, one of Jaguars most celebrated post-war models. Throughout its transition from the Series I 3.8-liter inline-six to the Series III powered by a 5.3-liter V-12, the E-Type had remained an icon of British engineering and design. Over the E-Types 13 years of production, it had evolved into a comfortable grand tourer, and the V-12 cars were the pinnacle of that evolution. The addition of a V-12 engine over the earlier straight-six meant an increase in available power. Other mechanical changes included a new suspension and wider track. The roadster also adapted the longer wheelbase of the outgoing 2+2 coupe, providing for slightly more interior room.
Twelve-cylinder E-Types are praised by enthusiasts for the power and torque provided by their engines, and they are excellent long-distance drivers. The vehicle was in dry storage for many years and was acquired by the previous owner in 2017. He then began a comprehensive but sympathetic no expense spared restoration including a repaint in factory cream, interior, top and so much more. The vehicle comes with the 1972 date coded set of tires that were on it during storage time. The stickers regarding the emission control system is on both carbs which is unheard of, yet another reason this is believed a super low mile vehicle. The brake pads that were removed from the vehicle while being sorted were believed to be the original outlawed asbestos brake pads that may have been original to the vehicle. Lastly, the oil change sticker with 9k miles dated October 1969 is still affixed to the vehicle. Third party inspections are welcomed and encouraged to verify the condition, authenticity and mileage supporting evidence of this vehicle. Warranty
American Motors Custom & Classics does a full safety inspection and detail before merchandising, display, or sale of any of our vehicles. We want you to rest assured the vehicle you are buying has been looked at, inspected, and is safe to operate regardless of your location. That being said, these vehicles are sometimes up 100 years old, and they do not come with any warranty from us and are being sold in as-is condition. If you are a local buyer with a mechanic, we definitely encourage you to take a look at the vehicle in person before bidding.
Condition
American Motors Custom & Classics will try in good faith to fully describe any and all features of our vehicles, as well as known issues with the cars and their functionality. We are in this for the long term and will depend on referral, good word of mouth, and good karma to keep our business and foundation strong. If there is an issue we know about, you will be told no matter how minor. That being said, the vehicles are in as-is condition being sold in that fashion. Mileage shown in most cases is the odometer reading only, unless specifically mentioned to be original mileage, the mileage shown is the odometer reading only and not presumed to be accurate. Most cars have rolled over or exceeded mechanical limits.
Shipping
Buyer is responsible for shipping the vehicle unless otherwise agreed upon. We will be happy to ship vehicles to local residents within 150 miles of San Jose for no charge. Other than that, you are responsible for obtaining shipping quotes and getting the vehicle shipped. Our agents will fully cooperate with your shipping company to handle the logistics.
Taxes
The buyer is responsible for taxes on the vehicle in your sate of province. We will collect sales tax from all California residents. All out of state residents are responsible for knowing your own state taxes.  Prices shows exclude tax, license and $80 documentation charge, any emission testing charge.
