Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our very cool 1971 Jaguar E Type XKE Fixed Head Coupe project. An instant icon, the E Type celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. How fitting that this example, hidden away in 1982, chose this time to reveal herself.
The FHC is clearly the one to own with classic lines and excellent road manners. Presented as found in a dry Southern California desert garage. The rescue and removal was filmed. See the video. So far, this appears to be a numbers matching car. Our further inspection required.
Rarity
Jaguar E Type Coupes have long been appreciating assets. This low mile model includes factory air conditioning and is very complete
Exterior
Some light rust is visible. See the photos. A full restoration is recommended. An amateur paint job adorns the bonnet complete with overspray. Artist unknown. What appears to be Chartreuse metallic paint is most vibrant in the interior of the doors. Not a production Jaguar colour from what we can tell.
Wheels, Tires
15” factory knock off wire wheels are fitted. The knock off key and hammer are included.
Engine
Twin Cam inline 4.2L 6 runs. See the video. AC car with everything in place.
Transmission
Manual transmission. Shifts through the gears. Condition unknown.
Trim
Needs restoration but in good survivor shape. Some pitting and wear can be seen, see pics and video. There are many included small parts of trim, interior, switches, etc.
Interior
Original Biscuit leather upholstery, Nice dash with AC. Some trim and carpet removed for inspection. Solid floors.
DMV
Title
Colorado title. Two Colorado license plates.
