SO...we built a fun car. We purchased it in pieces and added a lot as we went. Here's a break-down:
Custom Frame
Mustang II Front End
Mustang 8.8 rear
Lexus IS300 Engine (2JZGE) with appx. 124,000 on it
Lexus IS300 Automatic Transmission
BBS Reps
New brakes, lines, rotors, master cylinder from 1954 Ford
Custom Continental Kit
Blaupunkt DVD Player
Lexus IS300 Center Console
Hydraulic Hand Brake
Honda Civic OBX Radiator
Trans. Cooler
Optima Red Top Battery
Air Horn
Custom Exhaust
SPA Intake Air filter and MAF adapter
Stainless Exhaust Header
Hifonics Rear Speakers
Aluminum Fuel Cell
Boat/Marine Fuel Filler
NRG Steering Wheel
Custom made steel side louvers for engine cooling/efficiency
The OBD 2 port and diagnostics are still functioning and we utilized as much of the stock IS300 wire harness, computer, etc. that we could to maintain serviceability. The tires are newer, but fronts have some negative camber, nothing excessive, but noticed.
There are extra parts that will come with it and they include a GPS based speedometer, fuel gauge, sending unit, and other parts. Currently, the interior needs to be finished (door panels, under dash panel, and seat covers). Also could use a convertible top, we just run it without. It's low and is not Wisconsin road friendly.
I had this out for about 3 hours to cruise last week, had it out again last night, never a hiccup. There is currently no fuel gauge installed or speedometer. I've been using a phone app that works fine for speed and filling up every time I take it out to be safe.
The lettering and tire brand names on the side of the car are separate decals from the old fighter plane look. It is a full wrap; under the wrap the car is a light tan main body and darker chocolate brown fenders. (as seen in the last picture)
There is no wiper transmission installed or wiper motor. This was and is a fair weather car, never seeing rain (obviously, no top...). It's been stored in heated storage over winter. We finished it early 2020, at least got it road worthy. The lights and directionals work, however there are no rear running lights. Brake lights, head lights, turn signals all work.
This thing is a blast to drive, but we have some other projects up next and look forward to focusing some money and energy on those!
